This job involved some serious staining and varnishing, plus a good amount of painting. There are three colors of stain (the wainscoting, the trim, and the paneling).
The ceiling was the first thing to do. It received a maroon "dryfall" paint weeks before the actual construction began.
The walls were primed and painted next, then the trusses above the bar were stained and varnished prior to the contractor installing them.
The wainscoting was stained and varnished prior to the trim being installed.
The biggest challenge was the banquet room. Because the contractor was using this room as their shop and storage area, all the wood was installed prior to staining and varnishing any of it. Once all the contractors equipment was moved out, we stained and varnished all the banquet room wood in one very long, tiring weekend.
This is a project I am quite proud of - and the food is outstanding too! Pay them a visit sometime.
